TEXT: Project was done for invited competition that AKSL won in 2020 for renovation of Hotel Kompas in Kranjska Gora, Slovenija. The old and outdated hotel has a great potential to become everything that today's modern hotels have.

The plans for renovation were done for the public area in the ground floor, where a new reception, bar, lobby and restaurant was placed. Hearth of the lobby is centrally positioned bar and a fireplace. Around the bar there are different seating configurations with the views to the outside of the hotel. The idea was to create a nice and cosy atmosphere of a modern alpine hotel with usage of warm materials.
